• Official Agent

  An elector appointed by a candidate pursuant to the Election Act to assist the candidate during the campaign.

• Ordinary Residence

  Ordinary residence is determined in accordance with the following rules; in order to determine where an elector is eligible to vote. 

  1. a person can have only one place of ordinary residence;
  2. a person’s ordinary residence is the place where the person lives and sleeps and to which, when the person is absent from it, the person intends to return;
  3. a student who
     1. is in attendance at an educational institution within or outside Alberta,
     2. temporarily rents accommodation for the purpose of attending an educational institution, and
     3. has family members who are ordinarily resident in Alberta and with whom the student ordinarily resides when not in attendance at an educational institution
        
        is deemed to reside with those family members;
  4. when a person leaves Alberta with the intention of becoming ordinarily resident outside Alberta, the person’s ordinary residence in Alberta ceases.
