1996 Provincial General Enumeration

In November 1996, the names of 1,648,473 electors were collected for inclusion in the List of Electors during a door-to-door enumeration. Their efforts also resulted in the foundation of the permanent Register of Electors, which will be continually updated to enable Elections Alberta and Elections Canada to generate accurate and current Lists of Electors for future electoral events.

During the election, these totals were revised significantly with people being added to the Lists of Electors throughout the Revision Period and on Polling Day. The number of registered electors, after all revisions, was 1,764,128
