• All you need to do is to be able to make an ‘x’ on a piece of paper – we tell you which candidates are running and you make your choice.
• If you need help to vote, you can have a friend or election officer assist you.
• Even if you don’t need help, you can bring a friend.
• We have about 1,500 voting locations to serve you – there will be one location just for you (and your neighbors).
• We have over 15,000 election staff working on polling day to take your vote.
• You can find out where you are supposed to vote by going on-line, calling our office, looking in the newspaper or in your mailbox.
• You don’t need to show ID if you’re already on the voters list.
• Being on the voters list makes it even easier to vote, but you can also register when you go to vote.
• If you’re not on the voters list, you don’t have to show photo ID – just two pieces that let us know who you are.
• If you are unable to vote on voting day we have 3 other days you can vote in advance.
• If you will be out of town on voting day, you can vote by mail or in person at one of our 83 returning offices.
• If you’re in the hospital, we pay you a visit and bring the ballot box to you
• All of our voting places are accessible for those with physical disabilities.
• If you have a visual impairment you can use a voting template.
• If you need translation, we have a translation sheet or you can have a friend or family member assist you.
• We set up voting stations in seniors’ residences.
• Voting only takes a minute, so you can bring your little ones with you – teach them how to vote.
• Most voting places are in schools, so you can vote when picking up the kids.
• Voting places are open for 11 hours a day (9am to 8pm).
• If you’re working during voting hours, your employer has to give you time to vote.
• There is no dress code – you can come as you are.
• We supply the pencils.
