Returning Officers are responsible for the enumeration and election in the province’s 83 electoral divisions. The responsibility includes recruitment, training and supervision of the front-line election officers who staff the polling stations. Eighty-three Returning Officers were appointed for the March 3, 2008 Provincial General Election. Their appointments were terminated on July 3, 2008, in accordance with legislation.
